John Scarborough

John Scarborough is Founding Partner and Advisor at Summit Trail Advisors. John and his San Francisco-based team advise a select group of individuals and families on all aspects of their complex financial world. He helped found Summit Trail specifically to deliver that advice in the most holistic, straightforward and pure way. Prior to founding Summit Trail, John was a Vice President at Barclays where he helped build and run Barclays’ largest investment advisory team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, he was a Private Wealth Advisor with Goldman Sachs. Before joining the financial world, John spent six years working on key strategic relationships for Sun Microsystems and began his professional career as a structural engineer for the engineering and construction firm Edwards and Kelcey. He has degrees from both Duke and Bucknell University, where he played four years of tennis, captaining the team his senior year. When not focused on clients and financial markets, John enjoys anything outdoors near his home in Marin County with his wife and two daughters.
