Jose A. Reynoso, JD, LL.M

Prior to joining Summit Trail Advisors as Chief Fiduciary Counsel, he was the national leader of the Personal Financial Planning and Advanced Tax and Estate Planning/Trust Services Groups at Clarfeld Citizens Private Wealth. Jose also served as the Chief Fiduciary Officer and Director of Trust Services for Citizens Bank. Prior to the acquisition by Citizens, Jose served as a Senior Partner, Chief Risk Officer, Acting General Counsel and member of the executive committee of Clarfeld Financial Advisors, LLC. For almost 30 years, Jose has been leading teams of professionals that deliver a comprehensive suite of sophisticated advisory solutions. During that time, he has worked directly with individuals, families and family offices as an attorney and a financial, tax, estate and investment planner. Jose is an expert in income, gift and estate tax law and planning and a seasoned investment advisor. He is a published author and regularly leads seminars to professional groups, business owners, and wealthy families. He has led panel discussions on a range of topics including: current tax developments, complex tax and estate planning strategies, philanthropic planning and family governance. Jose earned an LL.M (Taxation) and J.D. from the NYU School of Law and a B.S. from Cornell University. He is a member of the NY State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He resides in Westchester with his wife, two children and dog.
